How To Become Catholic

Through the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) process non-baptized persons, persons baptized in another Christian denomination, and Catholics who have been baptized but never catechized, have the oppotunity of becoming fully initiated Catholics.  This journey to become Catholic is for both Adults and Children and is outlined in greater detail below.  To register please fill out the follow form:

THERE ARE 4 STAGES OF RCIA

STAGE 1:  Just Looking

In the inquiry stage, you're just exploring:  Jesus, and the
Catholic community are some of the topics. A time for asking questions as there are no  judgements or commitment.

STAGE  2:   Learning about the Faith

In the catechumenate, as your faith begins to develop,
you need to learn and grow more, come into closer contact
with the Living God and  learn more about  the Catholic
faith and traditions.

STAGE  3:
Getting ready for a new life in christ

The final stage before celebrating  the Easter sacraments
of initiation: baptism, confirmation, and Eucharist  is
purification and enlightenment.

STAGE  4: Reflecting on mysteries

This stage called Mystagogy  ("interpretation of mystery") is the final period of the initiation of adults.   During this period the meaning of your spirituality and the Sacraments is  further explored.

As Pope Francis says "God is not afraid of new things! That is why he is continually surprising us, opening our hearts, and guiding us in unexpected ways."

Everyone's journey is different.  While preparation sessions generally take place on Sunday mornings, we are more than happy to work with your schedule to accommodate your needs to the best of our ability (current schedule is available via the St. Mary Calendar).  To register please fill out the RCIA Registration Form and return to the Faith Formaion office.
