St. Mary, Our Lady of the Snows

Society of St. Vincent de Paul

Jim Baker, President (248) 685-2789

Our mission is to grow spiritually by offering person to person service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam and its Patron, St. Vincent de Paul.

We must pass, my brothers and sisters, from affective love to effective love.  And that is a love which takes flesh in the works of charity, service of the poor, which is undertaken with joy, constancy and tender love.

St. Vincent de PaulSt. Vincent de Paul is an international parish based organization which seeks in a spirit of justice and charity to help those in need regardless of race, creed, or color.  The efforts of our St. Mary conference include:

  • Assistance with Thanksgiving Baskets
  • Assistance with Giving Tree
  • Support of Community Sharing by conducting monthly food drives
  • Assist with food distribution to senior citizens
  • Conduct parish clothing drive twice a year in November and May
  • Yearly collection to support charitable activities
  • Maintenance of a poor box for donations outside the Cry Room
  • All members are trained and comprehensive assistance is provided.
  • Members work in pairs to support each other.

Funds are used to:

  • Help prevent evictions
  • Help prevent foreclosures
  • Help prevent utility shut-offs
  • Provide emergency food cards
  • Provide emergency gasoline cards
  • Assist with medical bills

Without the many faithful volunteers who give freely of their time and talents to lend a helping hand, our ministry would not be possible.  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join our team.
